Friday Five: Five Categories of Five Things

New thing I’m going to do on the blog. Why? Because I think it would be fun! Here are five categories with five things that highlight them in my life

  1. Fun Things: MW3, Walking/Running, Dreaming, Driving, Opening the Windows
  2. Weird Things: Clean Room, Going to Kenya in April, Christmas Lights Still Up, Dubstep, Fruit Bars, Emotions
  3. Challenging Things: Planning, Real Faith, Humility, Confidence, Connectedness
  4. Good Things: My Job, My Health, God, Family, My Students
  5. Wanted Things: Dog, Clarity, Rest, A Deck, A New Road Bike

Those are just some things that define some of my life right now. What are some of yours?

Taking A Break and Making A Change

Not that it is at all a surprise, but I’m taking a break from posting much for a while. Many things on my plate as we get ready to head into 2012. The New Year, Passion Conference and many extremely important meetings coming up. It’s going to be a pretty intense couple of weeks.

With that, I have been thinking about the New Year and the year that was. It’s no doubt that over the course of a year, there is much that takes place and changes our lives. But, I was doing some reading today on what some others have said about this next year and the goals that we typically set and call them New Year’s Resolutions and it got me thinking. Merry Christmas!

This Christmas, it definitely snuck up on me. But, I know this. I can be confident because the Word became flesh, that my days are guided by the One who gave Himself for me.

Celebrate well. Celebrate Jesus.

Santa Got Me Thinking

My bedroom door looked right down the hallway to the Christmas Tree, every year, until we moved in 4th grade. It was great. I had a great plan. All I had to do was wait up until I heard the hooves on the roof. When I heard the clapping on the roof, I would pounce. Fling open that door and run down the hall to find the fat man planting gifts.
